Hesperia Farmer's Market and High Desert Etsy Street Team
There's a whole crafts movement up here in the High Desert that I want to share with you!!
First, I've been having a booth at the Hesperia Farmer's Market on Wednesday nights from 3-8pm. I was there these past two weeks and I'll be back again on September 16th and 30th. Here are some pics of what I was selling:

Yes, I sell more than just scrappy stuff. I recently got into making barrettes and headbands for Katie and to sell. My husband also makes headbands, from neckties, like those above. He takes custom orders too! Just email me to find out more: hydrangeahippo[at]yahoo[dot]com.
Here is some of the scenery, courtesy of my son:

It was pretty toasty but nice to see new faces, say hello to friends, and just be outside, socializing. Diva April and Itty came to visit me too--thanks for the support!
Last week a fellow member of the High Desert Etsy Street Team shared my booth. Another member also sells Tupperware and her handmade purses at the Market. Each week I have a booth, please be sure to stop by and see which Etsians (that's what people who sell on Etsy are called) have teamed up to offer you unique handmade goods. Christmas comes up fast so get out there and shop!
If you've never heard of Etsy, it's like an online store for only handmade items and crafting supplies. It's a little bit like eBay in that anyone can sign up to sell or buy. Unlike eBay, the prices of the items are fixed so they don't go up from auction bidding. Also, the items stay listed for several months. Sellers who have common interests can start up Street Teams where they get a page and can set up a blog to promote their etsy shops together. So that is what the High Desert Etsy Street Team is -- all the Etsy sellers who live in the High Desert!
Today I was interviewed and it was posted up on our blog:

If you have a moment, please check it out and follow our blog. There's alot of crafters up here and craft supplies for sale and this is how you can find out about them.
Happy Crafting

August Monthly Challenge
This months challenge to you is to create a layout using memorabilia as a design element of your page. All too often we get caught up in buying all kinds of fancy embellishments when we already have a ready made embellishment in our ticket stubs, brochures, matchbooks, and postcards that we collect from those memorable events in our lives. So for this month I challenge you to use those items you have collected as an embellishment on your page. The person who comes up with the most creative use for memorabilia on their layout will win a prize from me, and remember, I am the glimmer mist girl, so I am not going to give away the surprise, but it could involve something yummy from Tattered Angels! So get those creative wheels turning, and lets see some layouts! Just email us your pictures and your name and email address at divinedesertdivas@gmail.com and your phone number too please.

We Cropped Like Divas!
We had a blast cropping and breaking in my new crop space last Friday July 31!! There was tons of yummy food too, plus carne asada. I got a yummy cheeseball mix from Collective Journey that morning when I dropped off my yard sale stuff. The cheese ball probably lasted all of 10 mins at the crop!

Talk about an embellie bar! I had a little place set up to buy embellies plus a glitter bar!! Yummy!

We used my Countdown Calendar that I made using the Display It All from Zutter to keep track of completed projects throughout the night, cards, mini album pages, layouts...each person who completed one of these got a ticket. They also got a raffle ticket for bringing a potluck dish and bringing a friend.

Every five layouts/projects completed I drew a name from the raffle tickets and they got to choose a prize from my mega prize stash--there were even QK dies in there! It was super fun.
Nikki did the first layout of the night:

Once we reached 50 projects done I let everyone choose 3 items each from the prize box. Too bad most everyone else had left by this time--it was close to midnight when we reached 50!
Here are some snapshots of the projects Nikki and Ashley made to help us reach 50:

The reason the Divas turned in early is because they were exhausted after making all of these goodie bags for ScrapPink:

Check out Aprile! LOL Those goodie bags messed her hair up good! LOL
The night was not free from jokes either:

You kind of had to be there ;) So next time I hope you will join us for a fun crop!! We had a great time and there was room for a few more people. So I hope you'll join us next month at my house in Hesperia on August 28th from 5pm to ???
See you there!
Here are the culprits who ate it! LOL
